We’re thrilled to share that Laura Dawkes, a 2023 graduate of Emil Dale Academy’s BA (Hons) Musical Theatre course, will star as Anna in the filmed West End production of Frozen, coming to Disney+ on 20 June 2025.
Laura made her West End and leading lady debut just weeks after graduating, in one of the most magical musicals of the decade. Now, her performance will be shared with audiences around the world as part of Disney’s official release of Frozen: The West End Musical.
Filmed live at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane, the production co-stars Samantha Barks as Elsa and brings the story of Elsa and Anna to the stage, bringing all the heart and beloved songs of the original animated film.
“Laura’s success is such a proud moment for us as a school,” said Victoria Hammond, Principal of Emil Dale Academy. “To graduate and leap straight into a leading West End role is impressive enough, but to now have that performance captured on Disney+ for audiences worldwide is truly special.”
As Frozen makes its way to screens across the world, Laura’s performance will no doubt inspire the next generation of young performers. We’re so proud to have been a part of her journey and can’t wait to see what comes next.
