Not One But Two Emil Dale Graduates Join West End Cast of Shucked at Regent’s Park

We’re absolutely delighted to share that two Emil Dale graduates have been cast in one of London’s most exciting new musicals - the UK premiere of Broadway hit Shucked, now playing at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

Georgina Onuorah, a former Sixth Form student at Emil Dale, stars in the leading role of Lulu, while Taila Halford, a BA (Hons) Musical Theatre graduate, joins the company as ensemble and First Cover Maizy.

With its first preview on 10 May, Shucked is already generating buzz in the capital. Direct from Broadway and hailed by critics as “a shucking good time,” this smart, heartfelt, and hilarious new musical features a book by Robert Horn (Tony Award winner), music and lyrics by Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, and direction by theatre legend Jack O’Brien.

Georgina’s casting comes off the back of a string of leading roles across the UK, including Angelica in Hamilton, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. Taila’s recent credits include Patty Di Marco in School of Rock and Jellylorum in Cats.

With two Emil Dale alumni already making their mark in this joyful and acclaimed UK premiere, we couldn’t be prouder to see our graduates take on the industry, one big stage at a time.
