Pay: Hourly rate (dependant on experience) plus a weekly fee for administrative duties.

Location: Located at our brand new facilities in Letchworth Garden City.

We’re looking for an established Ensemble Singing practitioner to join our team.

We are passionate about empowering students through outstanding musical theatre training, and by nurturing intelligent and critical performers. The goal is for students to have impeccable technique and skills across all three disciplines of Ensemble Singing, singing and dance, and to be able to earn a sustainable living in the performing arts industry.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Resident Ensemble Singing Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled actor, director, or industry professional with a passion for teaching and mentoring aspiring performers. This role will involve leading Ensemble Singing classes, workshops, and rehearsals, as well as providing guidance and support to students as they develop their craft and work towards assessment and modules to pass their qualification.

Responsibilities

- Deliver high quality teaching in line with the curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational objectives and industry standards.

- Work closely with the Head of Music to ensure assessments are carried out with rigor and integrity. a cohesive delivery of all elements of musical theatre across all courses.

- Seek diverse and appropriate material and repertoire.

- Promote and represent Emil Dale Academy both internally and externally

Ensemble Singing- To engender a culture of excellence, co-operation, and respect both within and beyond the department.

The primary role of EDA’s music department is to provide first-class Musical Theatre training to the students, appropriate to their age and background.

Music faculty are required to exercise discretion, empathy, and professionalism in all dealings with students and subsequently staff.

Personal Specification

Education, Qualifications and Training.

Essential -

Significant and relevant industry Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Theatre, Ensemble Singing, or related field.

Desirable –

Safeguarding training.

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) training.

Prevent training.

Experience, knowledge and skills.

Essential –

Proven experience as an Ensemble Singing teacher, Music Director, or teacher in a vocational institution.

Demonstrable expertise in singing technique with the ability to teach a range of styles and approaches.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all ages and backgrounds.

Familiarity with teaching assessments and educational standards, with a commitment to student success and development.

Highly motivated with dedication to the end goal of delivering exceptional teaching.

Enthusiastic, approachable, and flexible.

Ability to identify and progress work priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively.

Ability to motivate staff members and students.

Desirable –

Master's degree or higher in Musical Theatre or related field.

Experience of creation, design and delivery of curriculum content.

Experience of assessment and quality assurance practices.

The audition fee for all courses is £37 and is non-refundable. This is a one-off fee payable upon applying and covers the cost of the workshops and panel auditions, as well as any recall auditions if required.
