We’re thrilled to announce that our very own Oliver Halford, a third-year Musical Theatre student at Emil Dale Academy, has been cast in the West End production of Back to the Future: The Musical - as alternate Marty McFly!
Oliver landed this major role in one of the West End’s biggest shows, before even finishing his training, and has now been given a date for his first date leading the show.
“To be cast as alternate Marty McFly before graduating is an incredible achievement” said Victoria Hammond, Principal at Emil Dale Academy. “Oliver’s talent, hard work, and instincts have always shone through. We couldn’t be prouder to see him recognised on such a big stage.”
This milestone comes hot on the heels of Oliver’s spot as a finalist in the 2024 Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year competition. He’s part of a standout graduating class here at Emil Dale, with several students already landing roles in the West End and elsewhere in the industry.
We can’t wait to see Oliver shining as a leading man in the West End!
