Aim of post:
Responsible for a Level 3 Foundation Diploma and a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts; to teach 4.7 hours a week of MT Theory working within qualification specification.
~ Extensive knowledge of the Musical Theatre industry.
~ To promote and safeguard the welfare of young persons for who you are responsible for and whom you come into contact.
~ Manage the student experience through tutorials and pastoral care enhancing student learning opportunities.
~ Manage student progression and achievement through maintaining departmental tracking.
~ To oversee and manage the course planning, assessment and internal verification procedures.
~ Liaising with partner organising and Quality Nominee.
~ Oversee and manage annual Standard Verifications.
~ Report progression data to the Principal.
~ Oversee and manage GCSE delivery.
~ Manage visits to our partners including weekly visits.
~ Oversee and manage any communicating to parents.
~ Responsible for summer qualification results day.
~ Work in conjunction with the Principal and Head of Academic Studies.

Person Specification - Experience
~ Experience in teaching and assessing in further education
~ Working in a performing arts environment
~ Experience in managing educational correspondence relating to quality assurance
~ Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
~ Experience of working under own initiative and as part of a team to identify and resolve problems
~ Strong attention to detail
~ Excellent organisational capabilities
~ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal appropriately with a wide variety of people in a confident and friendly manner
~ Excellent time management
~ Tactful, diplomatic and assertive in dealing with challenging situations
~ Excellent interpersonal skills
~ A high level of written and spoken English
Qualifications/ Training required
~ At least a Degree level qualification in associated subject.
~ Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent) (Desirable).
~ Safeguarding, GDPR and Prevent.
~ A sound knowledge of further education quality assurance procedures.
Terms and Conditions
~ The salary after completion of probation is £25,000- £30,000 per annum depending on experience, starting salary to be agreed.
~ This is a full-time job with some (limited) evening and weekend work. The normal hours of work will be 40 per week including meal breaks working Monday to Friday 8.30am/9am to 5:30pm/6pm (to be agreed). The post-holder will be expected to offer reasonable flexibility in their working arrangements where it is considered necessary to undertake the duties they have been employed to perform, and in the interest of the service
~ No overtime is payable although Time off in Lieu for additional hours will be given if approved in advance with the Line Manager.
~ Holiday – 28 days per annum (including public holidays).
~ There is a 3-month probation period during which time the notice is 2 weeks.
~ After confirmation of appointment after successful probationary period, the employee is required to give 1 full terms written notice, and the company will give 1 full terms written notice.
~ Emil Dale Academy staff handbook outlines the terms on sick pay, maternity leave/pay, paternity leave/pay, grievance/discipline and all other relevant staff matters.
~ Emil Dale Academy operates an auto enrolment pension scheme.
~ Staff are entitled to tickets for shows, subject to particular conditions.
