General Manager

***GENERAL MANAGER & HEAD OF PARENT /STUDENT COMMUNICATIONS @ EMIL DALE ACADEMY + West End Excess.

We are dedicated to delivering outstanding customer service going #aboveandbeyond for all families and students.

We are seeking a general manager to work directly with Emil Dale overseeing all operations. This will include overseeing all junior and senior staff.

This person will also be in charge of general parent | student | family communications ensuring the highest standards of customers service are met.

We are looking for a qualified leader to manage our team and provide effective guidance.

You will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members daily.

As a team leader, you will be the contact point for all team members, so your communication skills should be excellent.

You should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

You will oversee the daily workings of our operations. Plan, manage and implement schedules to ensure deadlines are met.

Responsibilities:

Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.

Manage the growth and success of the team.

Ability to make decisive decisions for the needs of the business.

Responsible for the planning of daily operations.

Communications with all relevant employees to ensure targets and tasks are met.

Plan, schedule and review workload and manpower to make sure targets are being met on a cost-effective basis.

Create a detailed schedule based on strict deadlines.

Monitor office standards.

Make sure the working environment is maintained to a high level.

Organise, plan and implement inventory activity.

Confirm that health and safety regulations are followed.

Provide guidance to employees.

Set clear team goals.

Delegate tasks and set deadlines.

Oversee day-to-day operation.

Monitor team performance and report on metrics.

Motivate team members.

Discover training needs and provide coaching.

Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.

Recognise high performance and reward accomplishments.

Encourage creativity and risk-taking.

Suggest and organise team building activities.

Requirements:

Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor.

In-depth knowledge of performance metrics.

Good MAC skills, especially MS Excel

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Organizational and time-management skills.

Decision-making skills.

Ability to take on any complaints and offer resolutions where possible.

Core hours per week:

37.5

Must be flexible. Start times vary 9am-5pm or 10:30am-6:30pm or 8am-4pm. You may be required to work some weekend throughout the year.

We hold auditions throughout the year and offer places as we go. Our auditions are all day on a Saturday from 10am- 3pm (finish times variable) and the fee is £35. You are only required to prepare two things: one musical theatre song with sheet music and one monologue of your choice. You will then take part in an open jazz class. Remember we are looking for trainability. You do not have to be perfect. The audition fee is £35 which you will need to pay online by filling in the form below.The audition fee is non-refundable.

We believe the best way to get a feel for our Academy is to attend one of our Open Days or watch one of our full scale production in our theatre book here www.factoryplayhouse.com.  Meet the teachers, look around the building and take classes in all disciplines. We only offer a limited number of open days. Please note: You ALSO get to look around, meet teachers and ask questions on our audition days. You can also book an open day below.

Students apply directly to Emil Dale Academy for the BA Hons Musical Theatre course. Students do not have to apply through UCAS for this course
