BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Musical Theatre

Emil Dale Academy is proud to announce our new BTEC Extended Diploma in Musical Theatre! Run in partnership with Knights Templar School, Baldock, the course offers students aged 16+ a unique opportunity to achieve a recognised qualification whilst gaining valuable vocational experience, as well as exposure to leading industry professionals - all without the expense and disruption of travelling to London. It is specifically for students wishing to commit to an intensive training programme to fully prepare for entry into top drama schools or universities.

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Musical Theatre Audition Preparation is equivalent to 3 A Levels and is graded as pass, merit and distinction. Every module in the course is set within a vocational context allowing students to gain valuable experience working in real life settings. Students will be graded through a combination of practical, theoretical and project based assessments. The course is comprised of 30 hours of “contact time” with teachers per week, and all students will receive at least 30 minutes of 1 - 1 tuition in singing and acting every week.

> Song and dance

> Choral singing

> Acting for TV and film

> Contemporary dance

> Performing arts business

> Commercial dance

> Body conditioning

> West End Jazz

We hold auditions throughout the year and offer places as we go. Our auditions are held on Monday evenings 5:00pm - 10pm. You are only required to prepare two things: one musical theatre song with sheet music and one monologue of your choice. You will then take part in an open jazz class. Remember we are looking for trainability. You do not have to be perfect. The audition fee is £30 which you will need to pay online by filling in the form below.

We believe the best way to get a feel for our Academy is to take part in our free West End Masterclass Open Days or watch one of our full scale production in our theatre book here www.factoryplayhouse.com.  Meet the teachers, look around the building and take classes in all disciplines. We only offer a limited number of open days. Please note: You ALSO get to look around, meet teachers and ask questions on our audition days.
